Grief is so fucking wild. It sinks into your muscles, forces itself to be felt. It steals your appetite, floods your brain with cortisol. It makes you so, so tired.
If someone you know is grieving, telling them "just let me know what I can do" means nothing. They can't. They don't know. And the small things are too embarrassing to ask for.
Bring them a cheese platter. Pre-Cut fruit. Peanut butter pretzels. Protein shakes (like slimfast) Food that requires no prep and does not create dishes.
Do the dishes. Take out the trash. Sweep the floor. Vacuum the carpet. They won't ask you to do this, but it will help.
A bottle of acetaminophen honestly might help more than flowers. Grief really can cause muscle aches.

Crispy Chicken Tenders with Béchamel Sauce
Ingredients:
Chicken Tenders:
1 pound chicken tenders
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
Seasoned French Fries:
2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Béchamel Sauce:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken Tenders:
In one bowl, place the flour seasoned with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
In a second bowl, have the beaten eggs.
In a third bowl, have the breadcrumbs.
Dredge each chicken tender first in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken tenders until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Bake the French Fries:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the cut fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Spread out the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy, flipping halfway through.
Make the Béchamel Sauce:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until the mixture is pale yellow and bubbly.
Gradually whisk in the milk, and continue to cook, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Cook for an additional minute and remove from heat.
Serve:
Arrange the chicken tenders and French fries on a plate.
Drizzle the béchamel sauce generously over the chicken tenders.
Optionally, garnish with parsley and ground black pepper.

It took far too long but I've finally, finally completed the plate version of the Hidden Stars set that I've wanted since TWW launched. So many keys, so many bountiful delves, no luck in the vault. I'm finally free.
I doubt it'll fully replace my 7th Legion plate set I've been wearing since BFA, but it might make a good post-retirement Vaard set when he can't use Stormwind gear anymore one day.

Anyone know Gregory had affair with Ingrid Bergman?
i couldn't get through all of this because it's too tiny for me to read but the phrase
There's no "smorgasbord" about Bergman.
will, unfortunately, reside with me now always

meredil cant really engage with altmeri traditions and holidays anymore because of a deep seated trauma and because hes considered a societal outcast, so he lives vicariously through arvintaro who very happily introduces him to breton traditions. here i am imagining they are attending a waking day party and getting to dress nicely for once in their lives

This year marks a milestone 20th for me writing fanfic, so as a special way to cap things off this December I'll be posting daily drabbles representing 31 of the nearly 70 fandoms I've written for over the years! Here's what you can look out for...
01 The Picture of Dorian Grey | 02 Dead Like Me | 03 X-Men: First Class | 04 The Good Place | 05 Pirates of the Caribbean | 06 Life on Mars | 07 Demian | 08 Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter | 09 The Wind in the Willows | 10 Renfield | 11 Inception | 12 Brideshead Revisited | 13 Alice | 14 Captain America | 15 Good Omens | 16 Rope | 17 Interview with the Vampire | 18 The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde | 19 Dead Boy Detectives | 20 The World's End | 21 Only Lovers Left Alive | 22 The Charioteer | 23 Less | 24 Frankenstein | 25 Sherlock | 26 Jungle Cruise | 27 The Great Gatsby | 28 The Talented Mr Ripley | 29 Doctor Who | 30 IT | 31 Dracula
And because a lot of these fandoms are dead and gone by Tumblr standards, I'll try to pepper in some bonus feature posts to go along.
As always, thanks for reading! 🖤
